Job Title: Part Time - SEND Mentor & Art Support
Job Title: Part-Time SEND Mentor – Art Student Support Location: Bexley Hours: Part-time (schedule to be confirmed) Start Date: ASAP About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and supportive SEND Mentor to work on a part-time basis with a male student studying Art at college level in Bexley. The role involves providing tailored one-to-one support to help the student engage with their studies, build confidence, and overcome barriers to learning. Key Responsibilities: • Provide one-to-one mentoring and academic support during Art sessions. • Assist the student in staying focused, organised, and motivated with coursework and projects. • Encourage positive engagement with learning and help build confidence in a creative environment. • Support with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction as needed. • Liaise with teaching staff and SEND teams to ensure consistent and effective support. • Promote independence while offering guidance tailored to the student’s individual needs. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: • Experience working with young people in a SEND or mentoring capacity. • Understanding of the challenges faced by students with additional needs in further education. • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach. • Strong communication and relationship-building skills. • An interest in or appreciation for Art and creative studies (desirable but not essential).
