SENCO Job Title: Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) Workplace: Primary School Part time Axcis is working with a school in Romford, who are looking for a part time SENCO to join their team. The school is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive. As a forward-thinking and nurturing school, they believe in celebrating diversity and providing tailored support to meet the unique needs of all our pupils. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of effective SEN provision, working closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure that every student with additional needs receives personalised support that enables them to achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities: • Work with teachers, parents, and external agencies to identify students with SEN. • Assess and track the progress of SEN pupils. • Create and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs). • Ensure interventions are tailored to student needs and are effective. • Promote inclusive teaching practices. • Advise teachers on strategies for differentiation. • Work with parents, carers, teachers, support staff, and external professionals (e.g., educational psychologists, speech and language therapists). • Ensure regular communication and feedback. • Provide training and guidance on SEN practices. • Support staff in developing classroom strategies for SEN pupils. • Ensure the school complies with the SEND Code of Practice (UK) or equivalent regulations in other countries. • Manage Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). • Track the effectiveness of SEN provision. • Write reports for governors, OFSTED, or other inspection bodies.
