SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary School SRP (KS2) Location: West Drayton Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term (Potential to Become Permanent) Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm Join a Supportive and Inclusive Primary School Near West Drayton Station Axcis Education is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced primary school near West Drayton Station to recruit a committed and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant for their Special Resourced Provision (SRP). This is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting ASAP, with strong potential for a permanent position for the right candidate. About the Role -The SRP supports a small group of up to 10 KS2 pupils with additional needs, primarily: -Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs -Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) -Behavioural challenges Some pupils may experience emotional dysregulation, including verbal outbursts or the use of inappropriate language. The successful candidate will need to respond with professionalism, patience, and consistency, using positive behaviour strategies and a calm, confident approach. Key Responsibilities -Provide tailored support to KS2 pupils with SEMH and ASD -Implement behaviour management strategies, including de-escalation and positive reinforcement -Work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider SEND team -Help maintain a structured, safe, and nurturing learning environment -Support pupils’ academic progress, emotional regulation, and social development The Ideal Candidate Will Have -Experience supporting KS2-aged pupils with ASD, SEMH, or challenging behaviour -A confident, proactive, and resilient approach -Strong behaviour management skills -Excellent communication and teamwork skills -An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) -Team-Teach training (highly desirable) This is an excellent opportunity to join a caring and inclusive school community where staff are dedicated to making a genuine difference in children’s lives.
