We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our educational team as a SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant in the vibrant borough of Wandsworth, London. This full-time role offers a rewarding opportunity to support the academic and personal development of students with SEMH needs within a structured learning environment.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with classroom teachers to implement individual education plans for pupils with SEMH needs.
• Facilitate a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages student well-being and engagement.
• Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources tailored to the needs of SEMH pupils.
• Employ strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills, helping students to overcome educational barriers.
• Assist with the observation and assessment of pupils' progress, reporting findings to teachers and relevant professionals.
• Support the school's policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health & safety guidelines.
Requirements:
• Experience working with children with SEMH or equivalent expertise in a related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development.
• An enhanced DBS check.
