Axcis Education is currently working with a thriving primary school in Old Trafford that is looking for a teaching assistant to work with a Year 5 student with SEMH and challenging behaviour. Trials are happening now, so get int ouch with Axcis ASAP if you're interested.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with pupils with social emotional mental health and displays challenging behaviour. A keen interest in sports and specifically football is desired but not essential. The teaching assistant must be comfortable in dealing with challenging behaviour, be flexible in nature and will be able to adapt support to situations that occur throughout the school day.
This is a 1:1 teaching assistant role, therefore experience of undertaking similar roles and responsibilities are essential. The student who is in need of support is in a mainstream upper KS2 class and displays some challenging behaviour. The pupil in question will require support 5 afternoons a week (12-3.30) and can be relatively flexible or start and end times.
This forward thinking Old Trafford based primary school is vastly improving in all areas. Strong Senior Leaders are committed in their quest to create a happy, warm learning environment for their pupils and staff to thrive in. All staff are working together with the school's long-term goal in mind. This is an inclusive primary setting with specialist SEND provision in place to cater for the specific needs of their students.
The school in question are currently arranging trial days for the beginning of March, so if you have the right experience and are interested in this part-time role (5 afternoons a week), then get in touch today!
This is a temporary position.
If you are interested, then please contact Thomas Faithwaite at Axcis Education on 0161 507 9397.
This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.
Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.
