Job Title: SEMH Teacher
SEMH Teacher – Full-Time Location: Hampton, Greater London Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00 – 15:30 Salary: Paid to Scale Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs and Mental Health (SEMH) Teacher to join our inclusive school community in Hampton. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, evidence-based instruction and support for students with complex emotional, behavioural, and learning needs, fostering their academic progress and personal wellbeing. Key Responsibilities • Plan, deliver, and assess differentiated lessons that meet individual SEMH profiles and the national curriculum. • Develop and implement personalised learning and behaviour plans in collaboration with senior staff, counsellors, and external agencies. • Provide one-to-one and small-group interventions, monitoring progress and adjusting strategies as required. • Lead or contribute to pastoral care initiatives, promoting a safe, supportive environment. • Maintain accurate records, produce timely reports, and communicate effectively with parents/carers. • Participate in staff development, safeguarding duties, and whole-school improvement programmes. Essential Qualifications & Experience • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. • Post-graduate qualification or training in Special Educational Needs (e.g., PGCE, MA, CPD in SEMH). • Minimum 2?years experience teaching or supporting SEMH pupils in a mainstream or specialist setting. • Strong understanding of SEND legislation, behaviour management frameworks, and therapeutic approaches. Desirable • Experience with trauma-informed practice and multi-agency collaboration. • Additional certifications (e.g., CBT, CBT-based strategies, or safeguarding).
