Job Title: Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant
Are you a Psychology Graduate looking for a meaningful Teaching Assistant role where you can make a real difference?
We are recruiting for a full time Teaching Assistant to support students aged 16 to 18 with autism and learning disabilities within a specialist SEN department at a highly regarded further education college in Bath city centre. This is not a role within the Psychology department. It is a hands on, person centred position supporting neurodivergent young people to develop confidence, independence and life skills.
The college is well known locally for its inclusive ethos, strong student support services and modern city centre campus. Its most recent Ofsted report recognised the college for providing a supportive learning environment, high expectations for learners and positive outcomes for students with additional needs. Staff work closely together and there is a genuine culture of care.
Psychology graduates thrive here. Your understanding of behaviour, cognition, mental health and child development gives you the insight to support students with autism and learning disabilities in a calm, consistent and empathetic way. You will help learners engage in lessons, manage emotions, build social skills and prepare for adulthood.
We are looking for the right personality and values. You should be patient, resilient, warm and genuinely motivated to support vulnerable young people. Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in counselling is helpful but not essential. Your attitude and commitment matter most.
The role starts ASAP and becomes permanent after a 16 week settling in period.
• £13.70 per hour
• 8.30am to 4.30pm
• 4 days per week
• Full time
• Bath city centre location
If you are a Psychology Graduate seeking a rewarding Teaching Assistant role within SEN, this is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and change lives every day.
