Job Title: Private Tutor- Secondary Student
Location: Hounslow
Role: 1:1 Tutor for Key Stage 3 Student (Maths & English)
Hourly Rate: £20 - £30 per hour (dependent on experience)
Start Date: After Half Term
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced private tutor to work with a secondary school student on a 1:1 basis. The successful candidate will provide tutoring in both Maths and English to a Key Stage 3 student, helping to support their academic development in these core subjects.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored 1:1 tutoring sessions for a secondary school student, focusing on Maths and English.
Plan and adapt lessons to meet the student’s individual learning needs and progress.
Offer guidance and support on homework, exam preparation, and understanding key concepts in both subjects.
Be flexible in terms of the tutoring environment, which may take place either at the student’s home or in a public space such as a local library.
Essential Criteria:
A qualification in Maths or English to university level, or a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Previous experience in tutoring or working 1:1 with students, particularly in secondary school settings.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex topics in an accessible and engaging manner.
A flexible and patient approach, with a commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
Desirable:
Experience working with students in Key Stage 3 and a deep understanding of the curriculum.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to the individual learning style of the student.
Hourly Rate:
The hourly rate for this role is between £20 - £30 per hour, based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
