Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant
Location: Smethwick Pay Rate: £92.63 per day Start Date: Immediate Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 4:00pm) Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a confident and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Smethwick. This full-time role involves supporting pupils across the primary age range, helping them to engage with learning, develop positive relationships, and reach their full potential. The school is looking for someone with a strong character who can build positive relationships with pupils, maintain clear boundaries, and remain calm and consistent in a busy classroom environment. This role would suit a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), Youth Worker, Sports Coach, or Support Worker with experience working with children or young people. Key Responsibilities • Provide classroom support to pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. • Encourage engagement, participation, and positive attitudes towards learning. • Support the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils. • Build strong, trusting relationships while maintaining high expectations and professional boundaries. • Work closely with teaching staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. • Provide encouragement and guidance to help pupils develop confidence and independence. • Act as a positive role model throughout the school day. • Support pupils who may occasionally require additional emotional or behavioural support. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: • Previous experience working with children or young people. • A confident, resilient, and proactive approach. • A strong character and the ability to establish positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. • The ability to remain calm, consistent, and professional in challenging situations. • Experience working within schools, youth settings, coaching environments, or support roles is desirable. • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one). • Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday.
