Primary Teaching Assistant – Shepton Mallet Are you passionate about supporting children in their learning and development? Do you enjoy helping pupils overcome challenges and reach their full potential in a supportive, mainstream school environment? We are seeking a Primary Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming mainstream primary school in the Shepton Mallet area, supporting pupils in class, including those with SEND. About the role Working closely with class teachers and the wider support team, you will provide in-class support to pupils across the primary age range. You will play an important role in helping children engage with their learning, particularly those with additional needs. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include supporting individual pupils and small groups, adapting activities to meet varying needs, assisting with classroom routines, and promoting positive behaviour. You will help create a calm, inclusive environment where every child feels supported and able to succeed. This role would suit local applicants, recent graduates, youth workers, sports coaches, existing teaching assistants or support workers looking to gain or build experience within a mainstream primary setting.
