Job Title: PMLD Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education is recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a well-established Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school near Kidderminster. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for a compassionate and dedicated individual looking to support children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex additional needs. The school is committed to helping pupils achieve their full potential academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. This is a full-time Teaching Assistant job, starting in September, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm. The successful candidate will support pupils aged 4-19 years, helping them access learning, develop independence, and thrive both inside and outside the classroom. Key Responsibilities • Support children and young people aged 4-19 with SEND and complex learning needs • Work closely with pupils with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) • Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support • Assist with learning activities, communication, and personal development • Build positive and meaningful relationships with pupils • Help create a calm, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment • Support with personal care where required • Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence Requirements • Previous experience working with children, young people, or individuals with additional needs • A patient, caring, and proactive approach • Strong behaviour management and communication skills • Comfortable providing personal care support • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one • Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 4:00pm) What We Offer • Competitive daily rate of £92.63 per day • Free online training, including Level 2 Safeguarding • Ongoing support from a dedicated local Axcis consultant • Opportunities to gain valuable experience within SEND education • Potential for long-term and permanent career opportunities • Flexible and rewarding work with the UK's leading SEND recruitment specialist About Axcis Education Axcis Education is the UK's leading specialist recruitment agency for the SEND education sector.
