The role is Monday to Friday, full time and will go on till the end of the term at least with potential to go on further for the right candidate. The position is general in-class support - you may be expected to work one to one, in small groups or providing general in-class support as required. Experience of working with children with PMLD is essential and you will be expected to do personal care as well as manual handling. Many of the children are non verbal and the ability to use Makaton would be highly advantageous.
If you are a caring, friendly and patient individual then this could be just the kind of role you're looking for. The ideal candidate will be an experienced SEND teaching assistant who has worked with children with PMLD in a special needs environment. This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.
Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.
