Job Title: Maths Teacher: Fishponds, Bristol
Axcis is working with a fantastic Secondary alternative provision in central Bristol who are seeking to employ a full time SEND Maths Teacher. Teaching hours will be between 8:30-3:30pm with time for PPA. This is a full time role, five days a week starting immediately and running till the end of the academic year. The ideal candidate must have experience working as a Maths teacher for secondary aged children who are studying KS3 and KS4. If you can teach other subjects that would be an added bonus. You will be teaching students in small groups of up to seven with teaching assistants in the room. Many of the pupils have been excluded from mainstream settings and this is their last chance for an education. Some of the pupils needs: ADHD, SEMH and behavioural issues. There is a strong pastoral element to this role where you will need to be a good role model. The school use MAPA techniques so if you have MAPA training you will be at an advantage. We're looking for someone calm, kind and patient. You may have only worked in mainstream settings before but find that your skills are more suited to alternative education settings. The classes are small so it's easier to build rapport with the students and really make a difference in their lives. We can help you gain experience within SEND. The provision has been rated as 'Outstanding' by OFSTED, it has excellent resources, beautiful grounds and is popular with all our staff that we've placed there. There is excellent potential for progression in this school, with many staff being taken onto permanent contracts after a short period of supply work. You must have QTS, a PGCE and effective classroom management skills to be considered for this role. The right candidate will be an inventive and positive teacher who has a proactive attitude and the desire to go above and beyond the call of duty. You will need to hold an up to date DBS certificate and be able to provide a detailed, work history with two contactable references to be considered for this role. Many of our consultants are ex-teachers or support staff with SEND experience, giving Axcis unparalleled knowledge of the sector. As sponsors of the National Autistic Society and other notable SEND organisations, Axcis takes its duty of care to the profession seriously and we do our best to find only the best staff for the schools we work with. Axcis offers competitive rates of pay, a fantastic referral system (which pays up to £250 for referring your friends or family members to us) as well as useful SEND resources in our giveaways (see our Facebook page for more information on this!) This is a temporary position. If you are interested, then please contact Charise Clarke at Axcis Education on 0117 373 6127.

This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.

Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.

Axcis is an equal opportunities employer. The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All staff will be subject to our stringent vetting procedures, which include an enhanced DBS, full work history, references and a face-to-face interview.

Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions.
