Axcis Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate learning support assistant to join a friendly primary school team. This role involves supporting children both in and out of the classroom, with a particular focus on pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils across the primary age range
• Support children with SEND to access the curriculum and reach their full potential
• Work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to implement individual support plans
• Promote positive behaviour, inclusion, and emotional wellbeing
• Assist with classroom preparation and learning activities
• Support pupils with personal care where required (training provided if necessary)
Essential Requirements:
• Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting
• Proven experience supporting children with SEND
• A valid child and adult DBS registered on the update service
• A patient, caring, and flexible approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
Desirable:
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE, Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent)
• Experience working in a primary school environment
• Knowledge of EHCPs and behaviour support strategies
