Job Title: Learning support assistant
Learning Support Assistant – College Setting (SEND) Location: OL8 Employer: Axcis Education Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Contract: Agency – Term Time Only Pay: From £13.50 per hour (dependent on experience) Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated and reliable learning support assistant to work within a college setting, supporting students aged 16+ with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people as they transition through further education, helping them to build independence, confidence, and achieve their full potential. The Role: You will work closely with teaching and support staff to provide tailored support that enables students to fully access learning and college life. Key Responsibilities include: • Supporting students aged 16+ in a further education environment • Providing 1:1 and small group support to learners with SEND • Helping students to engage positively with lessons and learning activities • Promoting independence, inclusion, and self-confidence • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams Essential Requirements: • Experience working within a college or further education setting • Professional or personal experience supporting individuals with SEND • A reliable, punctual, and committed approach • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • An enhanced child and adult DBS registered on the Update Service Axcis Education is proud to be a sponsor of the National Autistic Society and other leading SEND organisations.
