Job Title: KS1 Class Teacher
KS1 Teacher – Sherborne
Salary: MPS – Paid to Scale

An established and welcoming primary school in Sherborne is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated KS1 Class Teacher to join its committed team. This is an excellent opportunity for an inspirational practitioner who is keen to contribute to the continued success and development of a thriving school community.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for high-quality teaching and learning, a strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum, and confidence in delivering phonics through Read Write Inc. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to uphold the school’s culture of excellence and ensure every child reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to the needs of all pupils
• Use a range of effective teaching strategies to promote progress and achievement
• Build and maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and external partners
• Monitor, assess, and track pupil attainment, using data to inform planning and interventions
• Contribute to curriculum development and take an active role in the wider life of the school
• Create an inclusive, respectful, and aspirational classroom culture where every child can succeed
The Ideal Candidate
• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Has proven experience teaching primary-aged pupils
• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of safeguarding and a strong commitment to pupil welfare
• Possesses excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Is reflective, adaptable, and committed to ongoing professional development
• Brings a positive, caring, and resilient approach to supporting children’s learning and well-being
