About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and resilient Hair & Beauty Lecturer to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Brent. This is a rewarding opportunity to support and inspire young people who may have experienced barriers to mainstream education, helping them develop practical skills and confidence within the hair and beauty sector.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, accredited Hair & Beauty lessons tailored to individual learning needs
Support students with a range of social, emotional, and behavioural needs
Assess and track learner progress in line with awarding body requirements
Deliver vocational qualifications and support learners in achieving industry-relevant skills
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment
Work collaboratively with support staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies
Essential Requirements
Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
Assessor qualification such as CAVA or TAQA
Relevant vocational qualifications in Hair & Beauty
Experience working with young people, ideally within alternative provision, PRU, or FE settings
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Ability to engage and motivate learners with diverse needs
Desirable
IQA qualification (or willingness to work towards)
Experience delivering vocational qualifications (e.g. NVQs, VRQs, BTEC)
Safeguarding training and knowledge of SEND
