Job Title: Graduate Teaching Assistant
Are you a recent graduate looking to gain valuable school-based experience before pursuing a career in teaching, educational psychology, social care, or child development? Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Bromsgrove. This is a full-time role beginning immediately. This role provides an excellent introduction to the education sector and offers hands-on experience supporting children across the primary age range, including pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Role Overview As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers and wider school staff to support pupils in reaching their academic, social, and emotional goals. You will play an important role in helping create a positive and engaging learning environment. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm Pay Rate: £14.25 per hour What You'll Be Doing • Supporting learning across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 classes • Providing one-to-one support and small group interventions • Assisting pupils with SEND to access classroom activities and learning opportunities • Encouraging confidence, independence, and engagement in lessons • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing • Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents • Helping maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment Who This Role Would Suit We are keen to hear from graduates who are looking to build experience within an educational setting and develop skills that will support future career ambitions. Relevant degree subjects may include: • Education Studies • Psychology • Childhood Studies • Health and Social Care • Sociology • Criminology • Sports Science • English, Mathematics, or Science • Any related discipline Experience Required Candidates should have some previous experience working with children or young people. This may include: • School or university placements • Tutoring • Sports coaching • Voluntary work • Youth work • Holiday clubs or camps • Mentoring programmes • Community-based projects Requirements To be successful in this role, you should have: • A degree qualification, or be due to graduate this summer • Experience supporting children or young people in any setting • A genuine interest in education and child development • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • A proactive, patient, and resilient approach • An interest in SEND and inclusive education • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one • Availability for a full-time commitment Why Work with Axcis Education?
