Hours: Full time 8:30-16:30 Location: Islington Salary: from £93.48 per day An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced, full-time teaching assistant to join the team at a wonderful and unique special educational needs and disabilities school located in the heart of Islington, overlooking one of the area's largest green spaces. About the Role: As a teaching assistant at this school, you will be supporting a non-verbal student with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). This student requires dedicated one-to-one assistance to ensure their well-being, safety, and engagement in the learning process. The PMLD teaching assistant role is full time, Monday to Friday 8.30am until 4pm and based in the borough of Islington. The salary is upwards of £93.48. Responsibilities: • Providing 1:1 Support for PMLD student, personalised support such as assisting with day-to-day activities, communication and engagement, personal care. • Work closely with teachers and medical professionals to curate and implement individual based care plans that address the unique needs of the student, ensuring their well-being, safety and comfort at all times. • Be highly adaptable to the changing needs of the student, be aware of activities that may need adapting around their personal needs and respond to this promptly. • Create a positive, inclusive and comforting learning environment where the student feels valued and supported to participate in lessons and activities and encourage them to engage to the best of their ability. • Manual handling and medical experience desirable but not essential, however, manual handling may be required.
