Job Title: EYFS/KS1 Teacher
SEND Teacher – Mainstream Primary School (Enhanced SEND Unit)
A mainstream primary school in Hounslow is looking for a full-time SEND Teacher to lead its enhanced SEND unit, supporting children with communication and interaction difficulties, most of whom have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
This role covers both EYFS and KS1 and is ideal for an experienced SEND teacher with a strong background in ASC and early primary education.
About the Role
• Lead a small class of 12 pupils (8 KS1 and 4 EYFS)
• Sole class teacher within the unit
• Supported by 4 Teaching Assistants and 1:1 support for one pupil
• Plan and deliver structured, personalised learning
• Maintain a calm, consistent, and nurturing environment
• Support pupils’ communication, interaction, and emotional regulation
Requirements
• Extensive experience working with children with ASC
• Strong EYFS and KS1 teaching experience
• Confident in leading a SEND unit within a mainstream setting
• Skilled in structured approaches, personalised learning, and routines
• Committed to inclusive education and high expectations
