Experienced SEND Teaching Assistant – PMLD & Complex Needs Location: NW4, North West London Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday Start Date: ASAP / September start Role: SEND Teaching Assistant We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming special school in NW4, supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated TA who has experience working with pupils who may require personal care, physical support and a high level of individualised assistance throughout the school day. The Role You will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide high-quality support to pupils, helping them to access learning and develop their communication, independence and life skills. Responsibilities will include: Supporting pupils with PMLD and complex additional needs Providing 1:1 and small-group support as required Assisting with personal care, including toileting, changing and feeding where appropriate Supporting pupils with mobility and physical needs Helping to implement individual learning and care plans Supporting communication, sensory activities and engagement Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other professionals Promoting pupils' wellbeing, dignity, independence and inclusion About You The successful candidate will ideally have: Previous experience working in a special school or SEND setting Experience supporting pupils with PMLD and/or complex needs Confidence providing personal care A calm, patient and nurturing approach Strong communication and teamwork skills A genuine commitment to supporting children with additional needs The ability to work full-time, Monday–Friday Experience with moving and handling, feeding, AAC/communication systems or other specialist SEND approaches would be advantageous.
