Job Title: Cover Supervisors, ASD-Specific All-Age SEND School, Solihull
Axcis is working with an amazing special school in the Solihull area who specialise in supporting children and young people with complex Autism, the school caters to individuals aged 4 to 19 years, tailoring their provision to each individual’s needs including sensory dysregulation, non/pre-verbal communication and challenging/distressing behaviour.
The school requires 2-3 cover supervisors for day to day absence cover across the primary and secondary departments. Experience of working within a special school, resource hub or alternative SEN provision is required along with degree level education.
The role will be to lead the class by:
• Following and implementing the planning left by the class teacher
• Leading and supporting the team of teaching assistants within the class
• Supporting the learning of the children you are allocated
• Maintaining control of the class, as a whole, at all times
• Working within different classes through the day and across the week

Requirements:
• Degree level education – Essential
• Experience of leading within classrooms – Essential
• Experience of working within a special school, resource hub or alternative SEN provision – Essential
• Experience of working with pupils with complex Autism – Highly Desirable
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required or we’re happy to carry out a new one ahead of you starting the position – Essential
• Minimum of 2 good references – Essential
