Job Title: Complex Needs Teacher Location: Sutton, London Salary: Paid to Scale Contract Type: Full-time Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM About the Role: We are seeking a qualified and passionate Complex Needs Teacher to join our dedicated team in Sutton, London. This rewarding position involves working with children who have a range of complex educational needs, tailoring education plans to their unique abilities to ensure they achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities: • Plan, deliver, and assess individualised lessons that cater to the specific needs of each student. • Create a supportive and structured learning environment where students with complex needs feel safe and are encouraged to engage in the educational process. • Collaborate with other professionals, such as teaching assistants, therapists, and external agencies, to support the holistic development of your students. • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that set clear and achievable targets for pupils, in line with their educational and emotional needs. • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing regular updates on progress and strategies for support outside of school. • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to maintain student interest and promote learning. • Manage behavioural challenges within the classroom setting, applying appropriate strategies to support positive behaviours. • Participate in and contribute to staff meetings and professional development sessions. • Adhere to school policies and procedures to ensure the well-being and safety of all students. Requirements: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. • Experience in teaching students with complex needs, including those with SEN (Special Educational Needs). • In-depth knowledge of the national curriculum and the ability to adapt it to meet the needs of students with varying disabilities and learning difficulties. • Strong behaviour management skills and experience with positive reinforcement techniques. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with pupils, staff, and parents. • Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of special education.
