Axcis Education are working with a high profile special school in Exeter to recruit experienced, compassionate and dedicated Enabler's (Care Worker) to work with a fantastic team of young people that all have Vision Impairment and other Complex Needs.
Based in Countess Wear, the school and boarding areas are housed within a purpose built site that current has approx. 50 pupils. The age range of pupils is from 5 to 25 and many require 1-1 support.
The role will be to contribute to the deliver of high quality health, care and therapy to learners whilst supporting a high standard of education.
You will be an adaptable Enabler who works in a nurturing capacity to facilitate Learner's making their own decisions and also to work in a listening and responding way.
Duties will include
" Working with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality care and therapy
" Administering and monitoring medicine
" Supporting personal care
" Liaising with parent, staff and other professionals as appropriate
The ideal candidate will have:
- NVQ 3 in health and social care (or equivalent social care qualification)
- Previous experience of prevising support top children and vulnerable adults
- A good understanding of Child and Adult Protection issues
- Physically ability to support young people, assisting with swimming, manual handling
- Experience of providing personal care in a manner which maintains dignity
- A natural ability to demonstrate respect and empathy for others
There is a mixture of hours available:
8.30am to 3.30pm / 11am to 7pm / 7pm to 11pm / 11pm to 7am. This roles pays between £11 and 12.50 per hour.
