Job Title: Behaviour Teaching Assistant

About the Role
A Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) located near Feltham Station is seeking an experienced and resilient Behaviour Teaching Assistant to support KS3 and KS4 pupils with SEMH needs.
This role is ideal for confident behaviour specialists who can manage challenging behaviour effectively while providing consistent emotional and social support. You will play a key role in maintaining a calm, safe, and structured learning environment, both inside and outside the classroom.
Role Overview
-Support secondary-aged pupils (KS3–KS4) with SEMH needs
-Manage and respond confidently to challenging behaviour
-Support whole classes to maintain a calm and safe learning environment
-Assist teachers with behaviour-related disruption, transitions, and routines
-Use effective de-escalation strategies to reduce conflict and support regulation
-Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with high-level behaviour needs
-Build positive, trusting relationships with students
Essential Requirements
-Proven experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
-Previous experience working with pupils with SEMH needs
-Strong understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
-Confidence managing behaviour in a secondary education setting
-Awareness of restraint techniques (training provided if certification has expired)
-Ability to work full-time, Monday to Friday
-Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service – essential
