About the Role:
In our rural school, every child is known and valued. As a Behaviour Support Worker, you’ll work closely with staff to support pupils who may need extra help with their emotional and behavioural development. You'll play a vital role in creating a safe and positive space where children can grow in confidence and thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support children 1:1 or in small groups to develop positive behaviour and emotional resilience
• Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
• Work with teaching staff to implement personalised behaviour strategies
• Encourage social skills, emotional awareness, and engagement in learning
• Help maintain a calm, inclusive classroom and playground environment
• Support supervision during break and lunchtimes
• Provide consistent encouragement and clear boundaries
Who We’re Looking For:
• A patient, caring individual who connects well with young children
• Someone with excellent communication and listening skills
• Calm under pressure and adaptable to a variety of situations
• Experience with children who have behavioural or emotional needs is beneficial
• A willingness to be part of a small, collaborative school community
• Open to completing relevant training (e.g., safeguarding, behaviour management)
