Behaviour Support Assistant – Secondary School Location: Bath, BA2 Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday Pay: £14.25 per hour Contract: Temporary, with potential for ongoing work Working pattern: Full-time and part-time options available Do you enjoy working with young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning? A secondary school in Bath is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to work with pupils who may need additional guidance with behaviour, emotional regulation, engagement and day-to-day school routines. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school environment where you can make a real impact on students’ confidence, wellbeing and progress. You will work closely with teaching and pastoral teams to help pupils remain engaged in lessons, manage challenges positively and develop strategies for success in school. What you’ll be doing • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis • Helping students regulate emotions and behaviour • Encouraging positive engagement in lessons and school life • Building strong, trusting relationships with young people • Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff and SEN teams • Promoting independence, resilience and positive behaviour choices We’re looking for someone who • Has experience working with children or young people • Is calm, patient and consistent in their approach • Can build rapport quickly with students • Feels confident supporting challenging behaviour • Has a genuine interest in supporting young people’s development Experience in education, youth work, care, sports coaching, residential care or similar backgrounds is beneficial, but not essential.
