I have a special educational needs (SEND) teaching assistant job for a teaching assistant with experience of working with ASD pupils. Are you looking for your next career step as a teaching assistant? Axcis Education are currently looking for a teaching assistant with SEND experience to work in an excellent special school in West London. The successful candidate will provide classroom support in the class room to children aged between 4-16 years old. This role will start after half term and will be on a full time basis between the hours of 8.30-16.00 Monday to Friday term time only. For the right candidate this position could be available for the duration of the academic year 2020. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teaching assistant that wants to gain experience at an excellent school with fantastic facilities. The school is a special free school for children and young people with a primary diagnosis of autism. It currently caters for a maximum of 92 pupils between the ages of 4 and 16 years. The aim of the school is to provide a suitable environment with a high level of therapeutic support and excellent teaching to allow pupils with autism to achieve their full potential and to make the most of their intelligence, focus and skills. Some key facts about the school. -Maximum of 8 pupils per class -96 pupils at capacity -National curriculum - modified to suit the individual needs of each child/young person Previous experience of working with physical disabilities and severe leaning difficulties is not a requirement but would be a benefit. Many of the children in the school are non verbal and therefore the ability to use communication aids such as PECS and Makaton would be an advantage although you will be provided with ongoing training throughout your role. Axcis offer candidates a range of CPD courses - including (but not limited to): L2 Safeguarding, Autism Awareness and Team Teach. This is a temporary position. If you are interested, then please contact Danny Webb at Axcis Education on 020 7580 2956.

This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.

Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.

Axcis is an equal opportunities employer. The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All staff will be subject to our stringent vetting procedures, which include an enhanced DBS, full work history, references and a face-to-face interview.

Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions.
