Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic ADHD Teaching Assistant to join our team at a vibrant and inclusive educational setting in Wandsworth, London. As an ADHD Teaching Assistant, you will have the unique opportunity to support the learning and development of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, helping them to achieve their full potential in an educational environment.
Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored support to students with ADHD, adapting to their individual learning needs and helping to manage behavioural challenges.
• Work closely with the lead teacher to implement educational plans and strategies that accommodate the specific requirements of students with ADHD.
• Assist in creating a supportive, structured, and engaging classroom environment that fosters student growth and learning.
• Employ a range of behavioural management techniques that are consistent with the school's policies and the needs of the students.
• Collaborate with other education professionals, parents, and guardians to ensure a cohesive approach to the students' wellbeing and educational progress.
• Assist in the preparation of materials and resources to support interactive and stimulating lessons.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the evaluation of educational plans.
Qualifications:
• Experience working with children with ADHD or other special educational needs is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with ADHD.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Patience, resilience, and a positive approach to problem-solving.
• Enhanced DBS check required.
