Salary: £89+ per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role:
Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with ADHD in a mainstream primary school in Hackney. This is a full-time, long-term position beginning in September 2025, with the potential to lead to a permanent contract.
The child you will be working with is bright and energetic but requires additional help with focus, routine, behaviour regulation, and transitions throughout the day. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children who display impulsive or hyperactive behaviours and who benefit from clear boundaries, positive reinforcement, and structured support.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Assist with concentration, task completion, and maintaining focus in lessons
Support the implementation of behaviour plans and consistent routines
Use positive reinforcement strategies to encourage desired behaviours
Help the pupil manage transitions between activities and cope with changes to routine
Provide support during unstructured times, such as play and lunch
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
Track and record behaviour and progress to contribute to EHCP reviews and parent meetings

The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with children with ADHD, SEMH, or behavioural challenges
Be calm, patient, and consistent with a positive, enthusiastic attitude
Be confident managing challenging behaviour using de-escalation strategies
Be proactive in identifying triggers and implementing supportive strategies
Possess excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Be committed to helping all children access learning and develop confidence
Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS on the Update Service
Desirable (but not essential):
Background in psychology, youth work, or behaviour support
Experience working with children with neurodivergent profiles
Familiarity with zones of regulation, reward charts, or behaviour tracking
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
