Job Title: 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - ASD - Kensington

A two form entry primary school based in Kensington are looking for experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to start ASAP. The Role: The school requires an experienced teaching assistant with special education experience. The successful teaching assistant will be predominately working with children with Autism (ASD) and will be working on a 1:1 basis as well as with small groups across different year groups. Many of the pupils are non-verbal, and the children are in years 1 and 2. You must meet the following criteria to be considered for this role: " Experience with children with SEND (Autism/ASD) " Excellent communication skills(you will be dealing with many colleagues/professionals/parents in the role) " Experience with helping SEND children access the early stages of the curriculum " A patient, calm and perseverant approach " PECS or Makaton experience and experience of working with non-verbal students would be ideal " Very good team skills and a good sense of humour! This is a temporary position. If you are interested, then please contact Sade Akintola at Axcis Education on 020 7580 2956.

This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.

Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.
