JOB TITLE / ROLE:
Youth Workers experienced in SEMH - Swindon - Swindon - Role: SEND TA Jobs
Axcis are pleased to be working with a pupil referral unit in Swindon who are looking to recruit youth workers experienced in working with children with social emotional and mental health needs. If you are interested in transitioning to teaching assistant work, we work with a number of pupil referral units in the Swindon area who are desperate for people experienced in challenging behaviour and SEMH.
The pupil referral unit uses therapeutic approach to help pupils with social emotional and mental health needs to become confident and happy young people who are capable of regulating their emotions and contributing positively to society. The pupil referral unit is extremely welcoming, has a fantastic support structure and offers excellent resources for all staff that work there.
If you are looking to make a positive change in the world then this is your chance. A lot of these children have had difficult home lives and have been let down many times. You must have a calm nature and ability to de-escalate situations. We are looking for someone who is unfazed by challenging behaviour and those trained in Team Teach and MAPA would be at an advantage. These children need a positive role model and the right candidate will be resilient, empathetic and understanding.
If you're looking for a supply agency that offers work in special schools and/or alternative provisions then Axcis is the recruitment agency for you. We can offer you a great daily rate and incentives like our monthly SEND giveaway prize, a refer a friend option that pays our £50 for referring a teaching assistant to us and £100 for teacher, as well as the opportunity to be nominated for (and possibly win) our sought-after Candidate of the Term award. We consider ourselves to be the ethical agency and work closely with the national autistic society (NAS) and the national association of special educational needs (nasen) we have helped to fund numerous training and support initiatives which have helped to spread awareness and good practice.
This is a temporary position.
