Axcis Education is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant in Axminster to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school supporting pupils with a range of SEND and additional needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for candidates with personal or professional experience supporting children. You will work alongside teaching staff to provide tailored support, helping pupils access learning, develop confidence and build positive relationships within a nurturing school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting pupils with SEND and additional needs
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support
• Helping pupils access the curriculum and classroom activities
• Supporting communication, confidence and social development
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
• Building strong and trusting relationships with pupils
• Working closely with teachers and the wider school team
• Supporting pupils to develop independence and achieve their potential
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
• Personal or professional experience supporting children or young people
• A patient, caring and inclusive approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to adapt support to individual pupil needs
• Resilience and a calm, consistent manner
• A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND
