Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant – Weymouth

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Weymouth is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team. The school is committed to providing a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, encouraged, and empowered to succeed.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will help create engaging learning experiences and ensure that all pupils can access the curriculum and thrive.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Assisting children with additional learning and SEND needs
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
• Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
• Working alongside teachers to deliver inclusive and stimulating lessons
• Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback where appropriate
• Helping to create a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and proactive individual who is passionate about supporting children.
You will:
• Have experience working with children, ideally within a school or educational setting
• Be patient, compassionate, and able to build positive relationships with pupils
• Be confident supporting children with a range of additional needs
• Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Be adaptable and able to respond to the needs of individual pupils
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
This role would suit candidates from backgrounds such as:
• Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
• Early Years Practitioner
• Care or support work
• Youth work or mentoring
• Sports coaching
• Children's residential support
• Psychology or Education graduates seeking school experience

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm (Term Time Only)
Pay: £14.25 – £15.10 per hour
