Job Title: Teaching Assistant
SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism & Complex Needs – Primary – Tower Hamlets £100–£115 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Immediate Trial Available Axcis are working with a highly regarded and inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets who are seeking an experienced and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism and complex learning needs. The school has a well-established SEND provision, with a strong SENCO and experienced staff team who work collaboratively to create a structured and supportive environment. Classrooms are calm, well-resourced and built around consistency, allowing pupils to feel secure and engaged in their learning. Located within close proximity to Underground and bus routes, the school is easily accessible from across East London. About the Role You will be working closely with pupils who require additional support with communication, sensory regulation and engagement in learning. This role requires someone who is patient, observant and able to adapt their approach throughout the day. You will: • Support pupils with autism and complex needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis • Use visual supports, structured routines and sensory strategies • Assist with personalised learning activities • Support emotional regulation and behaviour • Work closely with teachers, SENCO and support staff • Contribute to EHCP targets and pupil progress What We’re Looking For • Experience supporting autism or complex SEND • Understanding of sensory needs and communication strategies • Calm, nurturing and consistent approach • Strong teamwork and reliability • Commitment to full-time, long-term work This is an excellent opportunity to work in a setting where SEND is well-supported, structured and valued, and where you can make a real difference to pupils’ day-to-day experience.
