Job Title: Teaching Assistant
SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism & Communication Needs – Primary – Tower Hamlets £95–£110 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Immediate Trial Available Axcis are working with a well-established and inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets who are looking to appoint a confident and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism and communication needs. This is a school that takes SEND seriously — with a strong SENCO, clear structure across classrooms and a collaborative team who work closely together to ensure every child is supported effectively. The environment is calm, organised and well-resourced, making it an excellent setting for both experienced SEND staff and those looking to build further expertise. About the Role You will be supporting pupils with autism and communication needs within a structured classroom environment, working both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. This role requires someone who can build trust, follow routines and adapt their approach based on each pupil’s needs. You will: • Support pupils using visual timetables and structured routines • Help develop communication, interaction and engagement • Adapt classroom tasks to suit individual learning needs • Support emotional regulation and behaviour • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO • Contribute to EHCP targets and progress What We’re Looking For • Experience supporting autism or SEND • Understanding of communication strategies (PECS, visuals, Makaton desirable) • Calm, patient and consistent approach • Strong teamwork and communication skills • Full-time availability This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school where SEND support is well-structured and properly valued.
