Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Yeovil Setting: Specialist SEMH School Hours: Full-time Monday to Friday 8:30am – 3:30pm Pay: £14.25 – £14.50 per hour Contract: Long-term Axcis Education is working in partnership with a specialist SEND school in Yeovil to recruit a committed Teaching Assistant for a full-time long-term position. This is a rewarding opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of complex learning needs within a highly structured and supportive educational setting. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant you will work closely with pupils who benefit from consistent routines positive relationships and tailored support. This SEMH Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping young people engage in learning and build confidence over time. What the SEMH Teaching Assistant role involves: • Supporting pupils as a SEMH Teaching Assistant across the school day • Working as a Teaching Assistant on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to support learning • Acting as a SEMH Teaching Assistant to help pupils develop emotional regulation and resilience • Encouraging engagement in lessons as a Teaching Assistant supporting structured activities • Using calm consistent approaches as a SEMH Teaching Assistant to support focus and readiness to learn • Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff as a Teaching Assistant to support individual needs • Helping maintain a safe and supportive environment as a SEMH Teaching Assistant • Sharing progress updates as a Teaching Assistant to support pupil development What we are looking for in a SEMH Teaching Assistant: • Experience as a Teaching Assistant or SEMH Teaching Assistant is desirable • A calm patient and supportive approach as a SEMH Teaching Assistant • Confidence working as a Teaching Assistant with pupils who have SEMH needs • Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude as a Teaching Assistant • A proactive and resilient approach as a SEMH Teaching Assistant • A genuine passion for working as a Teaching Assistant supporting vulnerable learners Apply today with Axcis Education to be considered for this SEMH Teaching Assistant role in Yeovil.
