Job Title: Teaching Assistant
We are looking for a caring and energetic Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Axminster. In this role, you will support children with SEND, helping them overcome barriers in learning, behaviour and emotional development while encouraging confidence and independence.
Role Details:
• Location: Axminster
• Hours: Monday to Friday, full-time
• Pay: £14.15 to £14.50 per hour depending on experience
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
• Work with children with SEND in one-to-one and small group sessions
• Support pupils in accessing classroom activities and achieving learning goals
• Assist with behaviour management and emotional development
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored learning plans
• Promote independence, self-esteem and social skills
Requirements:
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional needs
• Patient, adaptable and resilient approach
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Passion for helping children thrive academically and socially
