This is a long-term, full-time role supporting primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will provide 1:1 and small group SEMH support, helping pupils to regulate emotions, develop positive behaviour, and re-engage with learning in a structured, nurturing primary school environment. The school welcomes applications from candidates with experience in sports coaching, mentoring, youth work, behaviour support, or SEND, as physical activity, routine, and positive role modelling are central to their approach. Key Responsibilities: Deliver 1:1 SEMH support to primary-aged pupils Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and engagement in learning Implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques Assist with classroom learning, interventions, and structured activities Build consistent, trusting relationships with pupils displaying challenging behaviour Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENDCo, and pastoral teams Support pupils during transitions, breaktimes, and unstructured periods Candidate Requirements: Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND, ASC, or behavioural needs Calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour support Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team Background in sport, coaching, mentoring, or youth work (desirable) Willingness to undertake ongoing training and follow safeguarding procedures Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply Why Apply?
