SEND Teaching Assistant – Mainstream Primary SEND Provision (February Start) Location: Christchurch, Dorset Pay: £90–£95 per day Hours: Full-Time, Term Time Only Setting: SEND Provision within a Mainstream Primary School (Up to 10 Pupils) Axcis Education is recruiting for an experienced and caring SEND Teaching Assistant to join a well-established SEND provision within a mainstream primary school in Christchurch, starting February. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a nurturing SEND unit that supports a small group of pupils (maximum of 10) with ASC, SEMH, communication needs and additional learning needs, while remaining closely connected to the wider school community. The setting offers the best of both worlds: specialist SEND support alongside inclusion opportunities within mainstream. About the Role Full-time SEND Teaching Assistant role starting February Working within a specialist SEND provision attached to a mainstream primary school Supporting pupils in small groups and 1:1, with a focus on consistency and emotional regulation Assisting pupils with ASC, SEMH and communication needs to access learning Supporting personalised learning plans, structured routines and transitions Working closely with an experienced SEND teacher and supportive wider school staff Helping to create a calm, safe and positive learning environment This provision places a strong emphasis on stability, trust and positive relationships. They are seeking a SEND TA who combines experience with a warm, engaging and patient approach, helping pupils feel confident, secure and ready to learn. The Ideal Candidate Experienced SEND Teaching Assistant (primary, SEND or similar setting) Good understanding of ASC, SEMH and communication needs Calm, emotionally resilient and consistent in approach Confident supporting behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement Reliable, committed and passionate about supporting children with additional needs A positive team player who enjoys working collaboratively Why This Role Is Right For You!
