Job Title: Teaching Assistant
We are currently recruiting for a passionate Teaching Assistant with specialised experience in supporting secondary school students with Autism in Haringey. The school is in a fantastic location, easily accessible via local public transport links.
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll assist students with their day-to-day education and living whilst creating a supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs. If you have a deep understanding of ASD, along with an ability to promote social-emotional growth, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and small group support to secondary school students with ASD, assisting them in academic tasks, social interactions, and behavioural management.
Collaborate with teachers and other educational and health care professionals.
Maintain a positive classroom environment by promoting acceptance, empathy, and understanding among all students.
Monitor student progress and behaviour, documenting observations and communicating effectively with parents and caregivers.
Stay informed about best practices and strategies for supporting students with ASD, participating in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualities:
Experience working with secondary school students with ASD, demonstrating empathy, patience, and understanding.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and respond to unexpected challenges.
A positive and proactive attitude, with a passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of students.
Ability to make all students feel valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
