Multiple Full-Time 1:1 SEND Learning Mentor Roles – Starting September Location: St. Helens | Salary: From £13.50 per hour | Full-Time | Due to the exciting expansion of our specialist SEND College in St. Helens, we are recruiting for multiple passionate and dedicated full-time 1:1 SEND Learning Mentors to join our team starting this September. These roles offer a rewarding opportunity to work closely with young people aged 16–25 who have Autism and other learning difficulties. You will play a key role in supporting their educational and personal development, helping them gain essential life skills and confidence for the future. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored one-on-one support to individual learners based on their specific needs and abilities. Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages independence and personal growth. Support students in running enterprise initiatives such as a café and a pre-loved store, as well as engaging in internships, sustainability projects, and animal care activities. Help learners develop vital life skills including communication, problem-solving, and self-care. Work collaboratively with college staff to develop and monitor personalised learning plans. Ensure a safe, secure, and supportive environment for all learners. What We’re Looking For: Experience in youth work, education, or care settings is highly desirable. An understanding of Autism and other learning difficulties is beneficial. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport. Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to making a difference in young people's lives. Flexibility and resilience in supporting diverse learner needs. Strong team player with the ability to also work independently. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable individuals.
