Job Title: Teaching Assistant, Secondary, Exeter
Axcis Education is working with a newly opened, purpose built, all through school in the Broadclyst area of Exeter. This thriving academy has a need for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants with experience of working with secondary age students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and SpLD. Based close to the M5, A30, Airport and mainline station, the school specialises in providing a supportive environment within the heart of their local community. The role will be to support small groups of students within a mainstream classroom environment across social interaction and communication needs including those on the Autism Spectrum. The ideal candidate will be an experienced TA who has previous experience of working within SEN. The main skills required will be empathy, resilience, consistency and the ability to build good relationships. As well as supporting students academically, you will also work on self-esteem and social skills. It is essential that you are reliable, enthusiastic and flexible. This is a long term role, Monday to Friday 8.30 to 3.30. The role is available on a short or long-term supply basis.
