Teaching Assistant - Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) - Chester - Cheshire - Role: SEND TA Jobs
Are you a teaching assistant with a passion for working with special needs? Axcis are currently working with a fantastic SEND college in Chester who are recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to work with PMLD students. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people. In this role, you will be expected to provide support, both in and out of class including supporting the child during meal times as well as assisting with personal care where required.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing personal care. This role would be suited to candidates with a background in care or working with children and young adults with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties. It is essential for the appointed candidate to have the ability to build positive relationships which help to break down barriers, build self-esteem and challenge disaffection. The school are happy to consider applicants with limited experience, provided that you have the right attitude and a willingness to learn. A passion for working with special needs is essential.
The college is in a fantastic location and is easily accessible by public transport. There are some animals on site and the students are encouraged to learn about looking after them. The college has a supportive team and engaging curriculum where students thrive. They have been described as having a positive and inclusive working ethos and there is a strong team of permanent staff who can support agency supply.
