Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Personal Care)
Contract type: Full-time Pay: Starting at £93.48 per day Key Responsibilities • Provide targeted in-class support to an assigned student. • Assist the classroom teacher in using effective strategies to boost the student's progress. • Support the physical and emotional well-being of the student under the SENCO’s guidance. • Follow the student’s care plan, maintaining their dignity and offering personal care as needed. • Supervise the student during breaks and lunchtimes. • Regularly update the teacher and SENCO on student progress and contribute to relevant reports. • Pursue personal development in relevant areas such as subject knowledge and teaching methods. • Communicate with parents and external partners as needed. • Participate in the school’s Performance Management and professional development programs. Safeguarding • Adhere to and promote the school's Safeguarding Policy to ensure student welfare. Requirements • Minimum of five GCSEs (Grade C/4 in Maths and English). • Level 3 vocational qualification in childcare or equivalent experience. • Experience working with children, particularly SEN students, in a mainstream classroom. • Strong commitment to high standards, safeguarding and personal development. • Effective communication, behavior management and flexibility in adapting activities. • Experience in a secondary school environment. • Confidence to take initiative and try new approaches.
