About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital part in supporting children’s learning, wellbeing, and development across the school. Working closely with the class teacher, you will help ensure every pupil can access the curriculum and engage positively in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the teacher in delivering engaging, accessible lessons and activities
• Provide 1:1 or small-group support for pupils who need additional help
• Assist with preparing teaching materials and learning resources
• Promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all pupils feel safe and encouraged
• Support pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development
• Communicate effectively with school staff and, when appropriate, with parents and carers
• Contribute to monitoring, recording, and celebrating pupil progress
Key Requirements
• Experience working with children in a primary school or similar setting (desirable, not essential)
• A genuine passion for supporting young learners academically and emotionally
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic school team
• A proactive, flexible approach to meeting pupils’ diverse needs
• An Enhanced DBS check (Axcis can assist with this if required)
