Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Full Time - Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) - Preston
JOB LOCATION:
Lancashire
A two-form entry primary school in Preston is seeking to appoint a teaching assistant to work on a 1-1 basis with a pupil who requires support with their social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. The school has a strong team of experienced and supportive staff, excellent outdoor facilities and also has a staff car park onsite. Your role as a 1-1 teaching assistant will be to support a pupil in year 2 who has SEMH and challenging behaviour with their learning in class. The child had low self esteem so it would be your responsibility to build a strong relationship with the child and implement behaviour management strategies. Leading 1-1 learning interventions may be required, as well as support for the child during lunch and play times. You may also be required to carry out small group intervention sesions with other pupils in the class who have mild learning difficulties (MLD) and specific learning difficulties (SpLD) such as dyslexia. You would be required to work from 8:45am - 3:30pm, 5 days per week with an immediate start. This is a temporary position. If you are interested, then please contact Charlotte Holmes at Axcis Education on 0151 448 2810.

This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.

Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.

All staff will be subject to our stringent vetting procedures, which include an enhanced DBS, full work history, references and a face-to-face interview.
