JOB TITLE / ROLE:
Teaching Assistant - Full Time - Oldham - Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) - Oldham - Role: SEND TA Jobs
A two-form entry primary school in Oldham is seeking to appoint a teaching assistant to work on a 1-1 basis with a pupil who requires support with their social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. The school has a strong team of experienced and supportive staff, excellent outdoor facilities and also has a staff car park onsite.
Your role as a 1-1 teaching assistant will be to support a pupil in year 2 who has SEMH and challenging behaviour with their learning in class. The child had low self esteem so it would be your responsibility to build a strong relationship with the child and implement behaviour management strategies. Leading 1-1 learning interventions may be required, as well as support for the child during lunch and play times. You may also be required to carry out small group intervention sessions with other pupils in the class who have mild learning difficulties (MLD) and specific learning difficulties (SpLD) such as dyslexia.
You would be required to work from 8:45am - 3:30pm, 5 days per week with an immediate start.
