SEN Teaching Assistant – Complex Needs | From £89/day | Havering | September Start | Full Time | Long Term
Axcis are working with a fantastic special school in Havering who are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of complex needs, including physical disabilities, PMLD, and sensory impairments. The school is based in a peaceful area near Romford, with free on-site parking and great public transport connections via local bus and rail services. The school is known for its nurturing ethos, therapy-led curriculum, and its “Good” Ofsted rating.
In this role, you will be:
• Supporting students with complex medical needs and physical disabilities in a small class setting.
• Assisting with personal care, feeding, and mobility (training provided).
• Delivering sensory and structured learning activities under teacher guidance.
• Supporting communication using symbols, visuals or AAC where needed.
• Working closely with therapists and other professionals on site.
What we are looking for:
• Experience supporting pupils with PMLD, SLD or complex medical needs.
• Confidence assisting with personal care and manual handling.
• A patient and nurturing approach to communication and learning.
• Experience in a special school or care-based setting is desirable.
