Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Support
1:1 Teaching Assistant – Challenging Behaviour Support
Location: Edgware, North London
Pay: £90 per day upwards (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time, term-time only
Start Date: Immediate / ASAP
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a primary school in Edgware who presents with high levels of challenging behaviour.
This is a full-time, long-term position ideal for someone experienced in behaviour support, youth work, or special educational needs who is calm under pressure and motivated by helping children succeed against the odds.
The Role
Provide consistent 1:1 support to a primary-aged pupil with significant behavioural and emotional needs
Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to create a safe and structured learning environment
Help the pupil regulate emotions, engage positively with peers, and remain focused in class
Record and report progress, incidents, and strategies effectively
About You
Experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, or complex SEND
Confidence managing physically or emotionally challenging situations
A patient, firm, and empathetic approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Availability for a full-time, long-term role (Monday–Friday, term time)
An enhanced DBS (on the update service) or willingness to apply
